A BETTER WAY TO PLAN

Your brighter day, in five steps.

Start with the weather. Finish with somewhere worth exploring.

01 / Start from your postcode

Choose a UK starting point and a radius. Distances use a straight line, not the road network.

02 / Choose your priority

Compare daytime warmth, total forecast sunshine, rainfall, or a balanced score. Organic weather rankings are never influenced by sponsors.

03 / Compare the best hours

See sunny and warm periods side by side. Forecasts use UK local time, between 9am and 6pm.

04 / Make a day of it

Look up named local attractions, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Verify opening times with the venue.

05 / Save your favourites

Keep a shortlist on this device, share a destination, and open directions before setting off.

FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES

Be part of a brighter day out.

We are developing ways for local attractions, cafés, pubs and tourism businesses to reach visitors planning a day in their area.

Local discovery comes first

Visitors can already discover named places through OpenStreetMap listings. Paid listings and partner applications are not open yet.

Clear, independent rankings

Future sponsored placements will be clearly marked and kept separate from weather rankings. There are no bookable partner offers on this preview.

PREVIEW PRIVACY INFORMATION

Your postcode. Your shortlist.

This private preview sends a postcode to Postcodes.io when you request a live search. Destination coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo for weather, and to OpenStreetMap Overpass when you request places. Those services receive normal network information such as your IP address. Sample mode does not send your postcode to these providers.

Saved destinations stay in your browser’s local storage. Remove them on the Saved page, or clear browser site data. This preview has no analytics, advertising cookies, accounts, email signup or payment processing. External map links open Google Maps under its own privacy terms.

This preview information is not a reviewed commercial privacy policy. Provider licensing and a full policy are required before public commercial operation.

ABOUT GIVE ME SUNSHINE

Find better weather. Discover somewhere brilliant.

What this does

We compare forecasts around your UK postcode and recommend destinations based on your chosen weather goal. Then we help you explore local attractions and places to eat and drink.

How to read the forecasts

Sunshine is a forecast, not a promise. Hourly sunshine duration is aggregated into approximate time windows. Maximum temperature can happen outside your preferred visit hours; we prioritise 9am–6pm for day trips.

Prototype limitations

This is a working demonstration that uses public third-party endpoints for personal testing. It samples a curated list of towns, uses straight-line radius and may not cover a sunny village between towns. Public APIs may rate-limit or fail.

Production requirements

Commercial weather licensing, a server-side API, road route calculations, appropriately licensed places data, proper caching, privacy/legal documents and quality assurance must be completed before public launch.
